Personal Expense Tracker

Track every dollar without spreadsheets. Just text your agent.

What You'll Build

An expense tracking system:

  • Log expenses by texting "spent $X on Y"
  • Auto-categorizes spending (food, transport, entertainment, etc.)
  • Weekly and monthly spending reports
  • Budget alerts when you exceed limits

Requirements

  • Plugins: None (just your agent!)
  • Time: 5 minutes

Setup

1. Define Expense Format

When I say "spent $X on Y", log it. Examples: - "spent $45 on groceries" → Food - "spent $12.50 on Uber" → Transport - "spent $200 on new shoes" → Shopping

2. Set Up Categories

Auto-categorize: - Food: groceries, restaurant, coffee, lunch, dinner - Transport: uber, lyft, gas, parking, transit - Entertainment: movies, concerts, games, subscriptions - Shopping: clothes, electronics, home goods - Bills: rent, utilities, phone, internet - Health: gym, pharmacy, doctor Ask me if unsure.

3. Configure Budget Limits

Monthly budget: - Food: $600 - Transport: $200 - Entertainment: $150 - Shopping: $300 - Other: $250 Alert me if I exceed 80% of any category.

4. Set Up Reports

Every Sunday at 6 PM: - Weekly spending summary - Top 3 expense categories - Comparison to last week Every 1st of month: - Monthly spending report - Budget vs actual - Spending trends
